Heading South!

Two weeks ago the ship began it's journey south. No winter for me this year! Here are pictures from the places we have visited so far:

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
*During this cruise the crew was not allowed off the ship while in Cabo due to bad weather. I will add pictures after our next visit!

Cruise No. 1: Success!

Week one how flown past! I made it from Seattle to Juneau and back again with no mishaps. Everyone on the ship has been so welcoming since day one, especially my boss and fellow musicians. This afternoon I will play two sets for embarkation and two sets in the cafe this evening. Here are some of the pictures I've taken of the journey so far (or at least as many as I can load before I have to get back to the ship).

Tea For Four: United at last!

Excitement is mounting: We ship off in a matter of days!

The quartet met as a group in Bloomington, Indiana a few weeks ago to have a few days of intensive musical preparation and some even more serious getting-to-know-you time. I pretty much love our group. Alise, Robyn and Thomas are all so genuine and seem to be incredibly excited about this opportunity.

*Not to mention, we basically have the best smiles of any string quartet I've ever seen.
You know it's true.*

We all arrive in Seattle on Thursday and will spend that evening with a bit of rehearsal and a lot of over-excitement. The next day we will move on to the Infinity, welcome new guests onto the ship with some delightful music, and begin our first trip to Alaska(!!!).

Until then, I'll be packing. Please keep me in your thoughts as I attempt to cram 7 to 11 months of living into two suitcases!

Oh, the places I'll go

View Places I'll Go in a larger map

Here's a quick map of the various stops the ship will be making while I'm on board.  The Infinity leaves from Seattle, Washington and returns to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

A brief intro...

In September I move onto this ship. I will be a violinist in the string quartet Tea For Four with my friends Thomas, Alise, and Robyn.

I've actually never met Alise or Robyn, but my gut tells me they are awesome people. It will sort of be like going potluck into freshman year...on a boat!

The ship is HUGE! We're talking 13 levels, a theatre, cinema, casino, wine cellar, library, boutiques, gift shops, champagne bar, martini bar, parisian garden, solarium, gym, pool.....I'm going to get very lost! Here's some pictures I have found of the ship.

I'm a little nervous. I'm much more excited, though!

Wow.
